Peter Clifton was an evacuee to the USA in 1940, and supports the work of those who look after refugees and the homeless. He belongs to a sandwich and soup run in London that visits rough sleepers and hostel users every week.

Peter has raised sponsorship money for many charities when running the London Marathon from 1990 to 1995.
He and his wife, Anne are keen mountain walkers, as are two of his four sons.

Michael Keene is sixty years old, an ex-Royal Marine and a former member of the Metropolitan Police, for over 33 years. He is also an active fund raiser for the Soldiers Sailors Airmen and Families Association. He likes to charter boats with friends, to sail to destinations such as the Channel Islands, as well as along the English coast. He has three children.

Michael provided back up with a camper van from August 13 to August 17, when Peter andPaul Clifton cycled from Fontainebleau to Geneva.
